I wish for peace

To all of you that know folks that have been shipped out or have draft-able pals: I was there twelve years ago, I know how scared you are, and I have a big, wibble-ready shoulder whenever you need me--my info is on my user page, visible to friends. As for me, the only things that will get me through this with my sanity intact are The Onion and Jon Stewart.

And to those of you doing a little unnecessary beating up of self: A selfish reaction is the only one you really can have. Don't be ashamed of that. It's human.

I often do, but there are some occasions when I can tell from the total surreality of the dream that I won't be able to mine any meaning from it. The one I had last night was one of them. All I can possibly think is that it was about being afraid of myself, which makes a little sense but not enough to be terribly helpful.... *sigh*

that nightmare I had that I wouldn't tell you the otehr night because you were about to go to sleep? It was about a squirrel eating a hole through a rotting but otherwise alive elephant in a birch grove, which was moodily lit while I watched and could do nothing and it smelled like formaldehyde. Do you really want me to delve that deeply into my subconsious?

Also, no worries re. Preist. Father Ted is available on DVD! I will get them eventually.
