I don't see Carla winning, but I think Fabio's inability to accept and learn from criticism is really gonna bite him in the ass. Though if her recent pattern (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Chef_(season_5)#Contestant_Progress) holds, Carla may be out next week, in which case, I would probably put Fabio back in the third slot.
I wish Jeff had been better at adapting to the competition because he's clearly a good chef with a strong point of view.
That was sort of a B-team of "all stars" tonight. I also enjoyed that quick crowd shot with a flaring summer skirt for the Super Bowl-themed challenge.
Right? We were saying that these chefs wouldn't have stood a chance against a real all star team like Hung, Tre, Casey, Dale (either one), Richard, Stephanie, and Antonia. Maybe even Marcel.
HA, did you read Don Colicchio's blog? He was totally like, who the hell are these "all-star" chefs? But I think an A-team of chefs wouldn't be interested in coming back to the show and cooking against the current contestants. At least "Chunk" and Andrew and Spike made it to the second half of their seasons, and whatshername Italian chick who lost at the wedding challenge.
I also love how everyone is dumping Hosea and Leah, like the only question is Carla v Fabio. The last three seasons they've brought four chefs to the new location and then kicked one or two out before the finale, so I'm thinking four chefs were in NOLA last week. #4 is often an interesting chef, too: LeeAnne, Spike, Sam, Antonia.
I am really uninterested in all the holiday tie-ins they've done this season. I'd rather see them cooking seasonal food even if it isn't this season. It's a weird disconnect. When they were in Chicago they were cooking autumnal food even if we were watching it over the summer, and it was fine. God, in two weeks they're going to do some kind of Valentine's Day bullshit, aren't they? Feh.
I was very sad at the loss of Jeff last night, he was my favorite and I think he had a chance to win :( That being said, I think Jamie and Stefan are the strongests chefs left and I like Carla the best of the other four so...there you go :)
I'm afraid to put in Carla; I think she's so fun and I love seeing her on my TV, and usually that person doesn't win. (The exceptions: the man in my icon, the man in yours, and Stephanie.) I love how my friend Meg, in the comment below yours, voted for Leah because she finds her annoying which means she will never be sent home.
I was really sad to see Jeff leave. I put Leah in my top three not because I think she deserves to be there, but I feel like she'll be there because she annoys me.
I shouted, I must admit! I was soooo sad. I'm still sad! The only bright spots are that Stephan totally lost and Carla totally won. Stefan's a great chef, but he needs some humility—better for him to fuck up in this challenge than at the end because he was overconfident.
