jlhI meant to do this post and then shit happened and I didn't, but:
So Holly came to the Avocado and whisked us away to Casa Negra and we ate and I had a long conversation with Theo about Blade II and some other things. We stayed up really late and so slept really late on Friday and mostly just sat around and tried to figure out if the lights were on at home and watched some movies--Whee Priscilla! Whee Philadelphia Story! Whee Oceans Eleven remake!
Saturday Cass and I went to Target and the mall, because Holly was very sweet and lent us her pretty car while she went and did family things, and yes, I can drive a stick shift. I bought:
Then Ruby showed up and we ate pasta and sausages. And then, you know that moment in Hairspray when they're in the beatnik flat and Pia Zadora says, "We're gonna put on some Odetta, smoke some weed, and iron the chick's hair!" Well, we put on some Belle & Sebastian, drank some absinthe, and dyed our hair. Cassie now has this great Rita Hayworth red, a little more vampy and a little less punk than the other color; Ruby touched up her dark brown; Holly made her red fringe a bit brighter; and I covered my grey so my hair is now a very dark auburn. Everyone looks really cool.
Sunday we wrote, and futzed, and slept, and watched Sex and the City, and then went home. So we did salvage a good weekend out of it all. Go us!
And now I need to see a woman about a cat.

- A flashlight
- A battery-powered radio for my apt (I have one at work) that also gets in VHF TV channels
- A bunch of toiletries, including a new comb and some sparkly bobby pins
- Some black linen trousers and a red shirt
