Found Weekend
Jun. 17th, 2003 12:20 am*puts Zero 7 on repeat play*
Friday Holly, CC and I were late getting the hell out of Dodge due to factors that were more worrysome in themselves than because they made us late. We rode along listening to music and chatting and eating chicken salad sandwiches and texting Josh with our coordinates and it was good.
We arrived to no apparent parking and moo shu pork. I microslept, live! We stayed up talking until 4am.
And the morning and the evening were the first day.
Saturday we shopped. Then we shopped. Then we shopped some more. And we took backroads that reminded me of the roads of my youth, when a certain auburn-haired boy and I drove too fast down winding lanes in a beat up Honda while singing loudly to The Smiths. I sang right into Josh's ear, as he sat in front of me in the car, and he never flinched. Good man.
We ate popovers and salad. We drank. and drank. and drank. We ran around a college campus. We stayed up talking until 4am.
And the morning and the evening were the second day.
Sunday we woke quite late and Josh made silver dollar pancakes and we met Tony and Angela who couldn't have been cooler and so clearly weren't trying, they just WERE that cool. We sat in a park and we shopped for lip gloss and went to a store dear to my college heart and we frolicked in the park and it was good.
We ate a good dinner and hit the road. We drove like hell because no one was on the road and I stayed over at the Avocado. CC and I stayed up talking but not until 4am.
And the morning and the evening were the third day.
Earlier this week I was feeling drained, like I needed a recharge. Well, I got it. Thanks, guys.

Date: 2003-06-17 07:15 am (UTC)So glad that your weekend in the country was. . . well, not restful, based on the above (no, really, do you ever sleep?), but refreshing. I'm happy for you. :)
