Well that was snoozy and just generally annoying, wasn't it? I don't even know what to recap here.
Seriously, one singer woke me up from my stupor, and none of it was worth watching a second time. When we get to the top 12, depending on which girls go home, there's going to be a bloodbath. I voted for Andrew because I'm annoyed, and Toddrick and Mike because at least they tried to do something.
- Lee, "Fireflies." zzzzzz I liked it a lot better than the vaguely shitty modern rock he's been doing. It might just be that I liked the song better, but he seemed a little more comfortable.
- Alex, "Trouble." zzzzzz
- Tim, "Hallelujah." zzzzzz also no one should do this song again zzzzzzz
- Andrew, "Genie in a Bottle." zzzzzz. I really am beginning to feel that the judges are trying to screw him. It's tiresome. They kept telling him to do this, and he did it, and they didn't like it. I didn't think it was great, but I'm voting for him out of general annoyance.
- Casey, "You'll Think of Me." zzzzzz
- Aaron, "I'm Already There." zzzzzz and he was flat on the verse and sharp on the chorus just like Katie!
- Toddrick, "Somebody to Love." God, at least I wasn't sleeping through it. At least he commanded the stage. The singing was merely competent—which is a lot as it's a tough song, and kind of too big for that setting—but this week that's probably enough.
- Mike, "This Woman's Work." It wasn't great at the start, but it got better towards the end. I think they overpraised it just because they wanted something to say yes to. But it wasn't exciting, and I want to be excited.
