jlh | iPhone or not to iPhone?

ziggy1278 gave me his old 1G iphone when he got his new one, and I've been using it as an ipod touch for a little over a year now. My phone is dying and I'm due for a new one anyway (I have AT&T) and I'm trying to decide if I should activate this phone or just get a new free one.

Reasons why not:
1) It's a 1G and old, so it's super slow and kind of lame.
2) I don't think I've used it as an ipod touch to it's ultimate capacity. I only have one program on it (Stanza) and mostly use it to read ebooks and listen to music, and occasionally take pictures and check my mail when I can. Oh, and bring recipes into the kitchen.
3) My phone bill will be higher with the data plan.

Reasons why:
1) I'll only have to carry around one device, instead of my iphone AND my phone. And when the phone rings and I have my headphones on I'll still hear it.
2) Ring tones for people! Texting will be easier. I can send pictures on twitter or whatever.
3) Hey data plan, so I won't have to wander the earth looking for wifi hot spots.
