Kirk/McCoy recs!

I know I've been threatening this for a while, but here it is: my Kirk/McCoy rec list on delicious. The tags should be self-explanatory, just the rating and the timeframe of the fic: academy/pre-mission (that gap in the movie between the battle with the Narada and leaving on the 5 year mission)/5yearmission/AU. Right now my recs cover May-September; in October a lot of challenges started getting posted, and I still haven't read through all of those. Updates to come when I've read and reviewed more fics!

(Did I mention how weird it is to be shipping the main ship of a big fandom? Because it is really, really weird, and throws my Idol experience into very sharp contrast. HP, too.)

A few personal preference notes:

• I want happy endings, and stories where they end up together. It's just how I roll.
  
• I love Alternate Universes. Of course I do; I keep writing them. I'll label, but one thing I adore about this pairing is how many great AU's there have been.
  
• I don't like character death. You won't find any here. Nor all that much angst and certainly no angst for angst's sake.
  
• I also am not a fan of hurt/comfort, and as you might guess, there is a lot of room for hurt/comfort in K/Mc, of the physical or psychological/emotional variety. You won't find much of it on my list.

and a few fandom notes:

• I'm not reccing stuff off the kink meme mostly because I rarely bother to go through it. Things that moved from there to being posted on kirk_mccoy may be here.
  
• I don't read K/Mc/S. I also don't read any of the Doom crossover stuff where Bones is also that guy from Doom that Karl Urban played.
  
• There won't be any rpf on here, not of course because I don't care for rpf but because I've never really been into actor rpf anyway.

If you want a place to start, a non-AU how-they-got-together to get your feet under you, try either lindmere's Angular Momentum or dancinbutterfly's The One With the Romulan Ale. Enjoy!

I was hoping you could help me with this. I'm looking for a particular Kirk/Bones fic. I honestly can't find anywhere or anyone else to ask.

I'm glad you were helped by them as they are shockingly old! I really need to catch up!

Anyway, you should check out both jim_and_bones and kirk_mccoy, especially the latter because they have recs roundups all the time and also have a place where people can ask for particular fics. (Check the rules, there's a system for it.)

Shockingly old or not they were awesome and I greatly enjoyed them.

I realized not too long after posting this that they had a rec round-up so I managed to find the fic I was looking for, so sorry for bugging you, lol. Either way, recs were greatly appreciated. I think I really should just suck it up and get a delicious account but trying to get all my favourites on there would take forever and a day. Heh.
