not that I care about the game or anything
Feb. 1st, 2009 02:39 pmHey Star Wars fans: Carrie Fisher was on this week's Wait Wait, and tells a funny story about the gold bikini and Boba Fett.
I'm off to a Super Bowl party later today, for which I've made angel food cake and blood orange filling, both of which are cooling in the kitchen now, and I'll mix up the lemon glaze in situ. Now I'm watching the ridiculous pregame, because it's ridiculous, and playing a game I'm calling: How many NBC Universal network tie-ins can Jeff Zucker cram into the Super Bowl? So far I've seen:
Will there be people from the Sci-Fi channel by kickoff?
Did anyone else see that really depressing Cash-4-Gold ad with Ed McMahon and MC Hammer?

- MSNBC: Keith. I know Keith has been on NBC Football all year, but it was an election year, and Keith means MSNBC at this point. Why they have him in the locker room with Tiki, making him look weirdly tiny, I'm not sure.
- Today: They've got Al Roker at the official party bothering celebrities. I know I'm a little biased, but the silly red carpet Fox made Ryan do last year made more sense that Roker running around being ridiculous.
- Bravo: Rocker introduced Tom Colicchio as Chief Culinary Correspondent and I'm not sure if that's a Daily Show-esque joke or not, but still: Spike and Blais are cooking off against Andrew and Andrea, which was the moment I put the pre-show on the DVR.
- Weather Channel: JIm Cantore pronounced it "super weather for the Super Bowl."
- CNBC: Maria Bartoromo talking about how NBC broke lots of records selling ads.
- NBC Prime: Folks from Heroes, Chuck, The Office
- SNL: Seth Myers talking about being a die-hard Steelers fan.
- Universal Pictures: The cast of the new Fast and Furious movie.
