So for those of you new to the whole Clio Does Idol thing, or who came in part way through last season: I don't really start talking about Idol until Hollywood Week at the earliest. Polls start when we start voting, ie, semifinals.

However, we did get this whole package at the start of the show tonight that reminded me of Bob Costas's nightly intros to the Olympics. Anyone else? They even had the stirring music. So in honor of that, a mini-poll:

Oh, totally Courtney Love, given Paula was ready to step to and smack a bitch. Nobody inspires violence like Courtney.

Funny thing was, she wasn't bad (not great, but not bad) and I think Paula would have actually been on her side if not for the bikini and the fight w/ Kara.

The best thing about bikini girl was Ryan having to do his "homina homina homina--I'm getting all nervous because you're so sexually attractive to me!" act with her.

I love how he tries to play off his "get away from me" feeling into dorky straight guy nervousness. The problem is that while he is dorky, he spends too much time around playboy bunny beards to make that make any sense. Why on earth would a girl in a bikini make him nervous? He lives in LA! He has power in Hollywood!

So then he just looks really really gay.

Yeah, he's actually a lot better(if not great) at pretending to be into certain chicks. I'm guessing he just didn't like this girl for some reason. Or he knew some dickwad editor would be playing "I kissed a Girl" in the background at the part that goes "I hope my boyfriend don't mind it." and knew the nation would be pointing and laughing at his gayness.

And I don't know if Simon is 100% gay or not( I'm not even sure RYAN is 100% gay), but I swear his leering at women is getting more and more cartoonish by the year. Even Jacob said "Simon PRETENDS to have a boner." in his weecap.

The whole Bikini thing made everyone a little bit dumber.

Oh and...Bob Costas is shorter.

I had a huge crush on Costas c.1992, his first Olympics. Now I sometimes find him annoyingly full of himself, but I still enjoy him. I think, though, that he's 5'4", and I'm pretty sure Ryan is 5'6".

It isn't so much that he would top Ryan as that he would care so much about topping, and Ryan would be like, whatever man.
