aethelflaed2 and we were talking about why Fosse's choreography looks so appropriate for a rap song, and really I think there's a straight line from the Fosse and Bennett Broadway choreography in the 70s and Michael Peters and Paula Abdul's work in the 80s, which let's face it, invented music video choreography in the first place. When Adam Shankman was judging on So You Think You Can Dance and Paula was in the audience, he pointed out how many of the choreographers his age had worked with Paula when she was doing the Oscars in the 90s, and they then influenced the pop choreography going on now. It's actually a pretty straight line. Go Paula!
