reality, reality, reality
Oct. 11th, 2008 12:32 amToday was a day of FAIL, so thank you, Simon.
Looking at the collections when they showed in Bryant Park some weeks ago, I was very sure that Leanne and Korto were two of the last three, and reasonably sure the third was Kenley. When they gave us that crappy pointless episode last week, I knew it would be Jerell who was out, because his collection was like, 3700 sequins barely held together by some dental floss. That wedding dress was a mess and the bridesmaid's dress not much better. I would be really happy with either Leanne or Korto winning, and with Tim as the guest judge I have no idea who it will be!
I am SO GLAD that Wisit is out, because he was beginning to really annoy me. So inflexible, and that's what really killed him on this challenge, with the weirdly feminine fabric for a guy's office and inability to deal with something colorful. If it wasn't elegant he wasn't interested. But not everything can be elegant. I mean, seriously. I'm loving on Nathan and Ondine, though.
I have been reading this really fun Idol story and I don't want to spoil anyone so don't read this sentence unless you've read through chapter 19 of Renegade. I'm really done with people making Simon the villain! First, he's a doll; second, he LOVES D Cook and did the whole way through; third, it's really predictable! Do something else! Though to be fair, it isn't done, and I'm still hoping that the traitor is actually Carly and not Simon. Now I need to catch up on
jm_cats's fic, which I thought he was posting to his journal and
cakeforever but I was mistaken and it's like, 9 chapters in or something! But that also means more to read, which is yay.
Oh, I forgot, I totally worked out how I'm going to "watch" BSG. I started reading Jacob's recaps and as Jonathan Adler would say, j'adore! It means skipping over a little bit of the first half of season 2 because the Strega recaps are some serious ugh, but I reckon I'll read these recaps and get myself all caught up, and maybe watch a few things here or there. Everybody wins!

Date: 2008-10-11 11:40 am (UTC)I haven't looked at what was shown at Bryant Park because I didn't want to spoil myself but when I saw that Jerell was Auff'd, I was shocked. I'm happy for three women in the finale but I was so certain it'd be Kinley or Leanne out of there. In the beginning I was really hoping for a Kinley win but her attitude or the way they are portraying her lately just kills it for me. I love her designs and what she sends down the runway but the whole spoiled toddler act is outrageous. I'm hoping for a Korto win now.
Eep! I'm sorry bb. I did post the first chapter in my journal but then someone told me that I'd have to make my journal "Friends Only" so the whole world didn't see the story or Google it. I got lazy and didn't feel like making everyone make me a friend so I just kept posting to
Love you to bits!

Date: 2008-10-11 04:11 pm (UTC)You should look up the Bryant Park collections of the three boys who are gone. Joe's looks like he's trying to get a job at the Gap, which I think is very clever of him. Jerell's is OTT for me, but Suede's just made no sense at all. Kenley makes me sad because I really liked her clothes at the start, and I like her personal style, but the fighter attitude is, well, a bit much!
I keep forgetting about that whole VftW nightmare, I think because they leave me alone—even they think Ryan and Simon are fucking. That, or like most fangirls they don't really care about Ryan and Simon. I think I had a new story posted when they went in and were horrible to all the Cake stuff, but they passed right over me. But no worries, I just hadn't been paying attention and then I was like, "wait a minute!" Like I said, now I can read a whole big chunk!
I would be happy to do your coding! But it is also really simple, just embedding an image. Allyson found all of mine because I am SHIT at finding images online; Juli found her own. Then I would do a simple color correction in photoshop (again, happy to do the same for you) and then in my LJ client I'd put the image in and play with the proportions until it looked right, using my LJ scrapbook as the host for the image. The only real tip I have is, let LJ reduce the image, rather than reducing it first; it just looks better.
With the fic I'm doing now it's so far back in the past (70 years ago!) that I'm going to break open my piggy bank and commission my artist friends to do a few illustrations. Otherwise no one will understand their hair! Which of course is very important.
