Okay, yeah, yesterday's was an 80s mix, and yeah, I did want lillijulianne to take the first crack at it, but today is much more of an even playing field. Here's a mix I made for D__ when he moved from New York to LA. Again, no covers, though there are a lot of versions of #4.

There's probably a million songs with "city of angels" in the lyrics, but from what I know of your tastes I'm guessing #12 might be the Indigo Girls, only I don't remember the name of the song. Or else there's a Red Hot Chili Peppers city of angels song.

The only other one I recognize is #5.

Me, I'd add: This ain't no disco, it ain't no country club either.

It's totally the Indigo Girls song! The start of the line is the title of that song, so I'll just give it to you.

For a string of connected reasons that song always makes me think of Madonna.
