Who did the TV meme? I feel like I saw it on my flist but I can't remember who did it so I can grab the list.

From Entertainment Weekly's top 100 movies of the last 25 years. Go through their list, BOLD the ones you have seen, and underline the ones you own on video or DVD; put an asterisk next to the one you love. Italicize the ones you want to see. Note: I starred so many that I went back and put hearts next to the ones I OMG CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT.

♥1. Pulp Fiction (1994)
2. The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-03) (So the fandom thing keeps making me think I should read the books first, and let's face it, that's not going to happen. On top of that, not so much with the hero narrative blah blah blah, so I think I'm sitting this one out.)

It totally is! I love them so much. I really should poke around for black market dvds/downloads of those shows because Precious Roy and Chester and the songs were so damn hilarious.

They're my default media-commentary icon.

Re: LOTR, my roommate tried to read the books before the movies came out and just found herself reading the books and thinking they'd make better movies (cutting out a lot of traveling etc.). So yeah, I don't think it's a problem.

I liked Spider-man 2 the best of all of them.

*off to do this meme*

I saw some folks being all OMG grouchykins about this list, but I thought it was pretty good. Quibbles, sure, like Crimes and Misdemeanors rather than Hannah and her Sisters, or the like, but I think this list is pretty damn solid.

Someone else (not the roommate actually) was all, where is the Cary Grant, what's the point of the last 25 years, and I thought, dude, you have the AFI for lists like that. The new classics is the entire point of this series. Sheesh.
