We Gotta Get Out of This Place

I'm sad because I really like Jason—check my american idol tag and you'll see. ali_wildgoose adores him, but she couldn't watch him last night; fucking up the words triggered her embarrassment squick. I loved him—come on, he's a drummer!—and I voted for him every single week from the first week of semis until this week, when sadly, I was sort of done. Also, to be honest, I didn't want to see Daughtry part 2, and I feel more for dCook at this point than Jason.

I had a really great conversation with mahoni in my previous post about Jason and the way the show works and all of that and at one point I said that I want a baseline of professionalism from these singers. And talking to lillijulianne in chat I said that I felt like his stuff this week was less improvised than just not thought through. I want there to be some kind of thought to it, even to back up the improv. I want to feel like there was some work done. As Tim Gunn says, I can't want it more than they do.

That said, allow me to squee over Ryan's gorgeous headdesk at the suggestion of Simon as James Bond. Icon now plz, or at least, can I get a screencap?

I think Jason might've broken down if he had to stay another week. The montage was a nice reminder that the last few weeks weren't representative.

In other ex-Idol news, have you seen this video of Carly and MJ beginning their world domination tour? I, for one, welcome our new big voiced overlords.
