Because people are awesome

We all have different ways in which we contribute to this LJ thing, or the thing we call fandom, or whathaveyou. Mostly, I write fic. I also post the occasional meta, and for Idol, I do a big damn recap with a poll that's fun to vote in, and y'all come around and chat in the comments and it's great.

But what's even more fun is that other people do other things that I can't do very well, like make icons, or videos, or draw pictures, or find photos and sound clips and footage and screen caps. So when bhanesidhe introduced me to the awesome that is the Big Damn Quiz Show, in order to show me the Goth Detectives, she didn't expect me to fall in huge crush with David Mitchell, but, um, I kinda did, and being who she is, she facilitated by finding me much icon joy. And then on top of THAT, dollsome made some new Rymon icons which are full of yay, because I need many for my fic posting needs. Being perverse, I shall use a Seamus/Dean icon.

By the way, does anyone know where to get hi-res caps of AI? Because that moment when Ryan is whispering in Simon's ear in the first episode of the finals? Need that.

David Mitchell is incredibly crushable, I've been madly in love with that man for far too long. I even sat through the recording of the rather awful quiz show Would I Lie To You several times mostly for him (and it was, in places, absolutely awful)

I know what you mean about LJ connections though and you find a vid or an icon or a post that says just what's in your head but in a medium you know you couldn't get right if you tried.

In what way was it awful? We're so skewed over here, we think that all British TV is amazing because of course only the amazing stuff gets recommended to us.

It's a panel show based on whether the opposing team can tell lies from truth in various set ups and the thing that, to me, sometimes makes it awful is that it gets a really varied level of guests. Some of them are very funny (there's an episode with Robert Webb which is very funny if only for seeing what David and Rob know about each other) but a lot of them are D List and down and quite cringeworthy.

But David Mitchell himself is very funny, and Lee Mack who's the opposing team captain is good too and the host, Angus Deayton, was one of my favourites when he was on Have I Got News For You.

I suppose hit and miss would be more accurate than awful possibly.
