I'm not a fan of the bloatastic hour-long Idol results show, but one thing I can get from the hour that I cannot get from the half-hour is the weirdo group sing and seriously, who is doing the bad state pageant choreography? How awesome is it that Jason over does all of it? It's like none of them take it seriously, which allows them to throw themselves into it totally, which is awesome.

My Rymon moment: the look on Ryan's little face watching Simon apologize to God and everyone. He was so proud.

As for the results, everyone gets a cookie, except [livejournal.com profile] lillijulianne, but I give her other things, so there you go. We love you anyway, Juli!

Top Chef is shaping up to be an interesting season, though I find I don't have a ton to say about it quite yet.

And in Make Me a Supermodel news (c'mon, it was like TV crack and you know it), I'm really okay with Holly's win, because I think she needs the guidance more than the boys, and I bet that Ronnie will soon have some sort of hosting gig because he's so lovable and well-spoken on top of being a cutie.

By the way, the first ten minutes of Step It Up and Dance told me all I needed to know about NOT watching that show.

I admit I was glad the girl won.:-) Though I would have respected a Ronnie-win. I do think he'll go on to do great anyway.

I've also been watching Top Chef. Last night's was cool.

I watched all of Step it Up and would love to discuss all the reasons NOT to watch it. What was interesting that you might not have seen because it was later on, were there were two sort of politically incorrect moments--but done by a member of the "group" in question.

For instance, Miguel was given a note to "butch it up" because he had to "man up" after he did a little dance that wasn't so much effeminate but just obviously gay sassy. And he cuts to the chase and says, "Did I look like a fag onstage?" and the woman says, "A little bit."

Then later when Tovah the extremely shy ballet dancer does really badly in her freestyle moment (enough with the freestyling, it was all awful anyway!) she says, "Yeah, hip hop is not my thing at all" Scary Spice says, "But you're BLACK!"

Have you seen Amanda's interview on Idolatry? They ask her about the group sings and the choreography. Basically, she says it was her version of hell. Mine too.
