jlh | Five for Friday: Favorite Five meme

This is the meme: Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the best things you've written, but what you love most. The only way I could get it down to five stories is to restrict this to HP, which is most of my output anyway. That said, I dearly love the toes I've dipped in other canons, not to mention the Rymon.

Eight Ways From Sunday: Seamus/Dean, Harry/Hermione, Draco/Ginny, Ron/Padma, R. A finished, chaptered fic! It's a romantic comedy with an ensemble cast and I'm still pretty pleased with how it came out. The response was pretty great for a first chaptered fic. This story got me so many things, like a role in

nocturnealley, friends who read and beta'd and Brit-picked and were just generally supportive, and my own place in supporting my OTP. EWFS is also the set up for nearly every HP story I've written, so it set up my own mini "universe," and will always be near and dear to my heart.

Swingers: Harry/Hermione/Ginny/Draco, NC-17. This one was a long time in the making and you know it's going to be good when you're a little bit afraid of it. Chaptered bi-textual smut with a large side of mind games, so not exactly a PWP, more like, the porn IS the plot. Probably my one story that I wish had found a bigger audience when it was posted.

Or, the White Whale: Seamus/Dean, NC-17. It's tough to pick just one Seamus/Dean; I mean, they're my boys, you know? But here's the most recent, and the most boyish. Pre-slash during the Quidditch World Cup (so, beginning of GoF). Even though their relationship hasn't started, I think you can see from this story how well they suit each other.

Pretty From Behind: Harry/Hermione, NC-17. The Bend-Over-Harry story that I wrote longhand in a notebook at the urging of

cassandraclare because it amused her. I like the idea of Hermione lusting after Harry generally and treating him like a sex object on occasion. It's established relationship futurefic, a prequel of sorts to Swingers. If someone were to ask me, what do you think het smut should look like? I would point them to this story.

Open Your Eyes: Harry/Draco, NC-17. Not in the same EWFS-verse as nearly everything else I've written, this was first done as a birthday present for

nmalfoy, and therefore is a futurefic for her Malfoy, PI. Since I'm a beta for that story, I knew how it was going to end, and therefore I've sat on this story for a few years because I didn't want to give anything away. But when I was thinking about this meme I wanted to include this story, and Nancy gave me her kind permission, which is why I posted it at the same time as this meme. It's not dark—I don't write dark—but it IS serious, and I'm pretty proud of it, especially the last lines.
