Can we get rid of some of these blondes?
Feb. 27th, 2008 11:03 pmOMG Ryan looks soooo hot. I mean, why does he wear jackets? He should never wear anything other than a button down shirt in a strong color, jeans, and a good belt. That's why all the Rymon happened; Simon just couldn't help himself. And did anyone else notice how after he walked over to the judges' table and shook everyone's hands, Ryan left his arm draped across the table, sort of reaching toward Simon? Or how much they smiled at each other while they were teasing each other? ♥
Carly Smithson, "Crazy On You." I really love this song, and she was okay, but like Simon said, it wasn't a moment.
Syesha Mercado, "Me and Mr. Jones." You know, I adore this song, but as Randy said, she didn't really show herself off tonight. But I love her scarf and her earrings as a sort of 70's touch.
Brooke White, "You're So Vain." Um, that's a fuck-you song, so why are you smiling? It wasn't, you know, amazing or anything, but it was totally in her niche as Simon said. I just hope she can get out of her whole 70s girl singer-songwriter Carole King/Carly Simon thing, so we'll see what she does next week.
Ramiele Malubay, "Don't Leave Me This Way." I'm not surprised that if she's in the crew running around with Danny and Colton that she is singing this song, but this is a serious diva song (or small gay man, see Jimmy Somerville) and she didn't take me there. Kinda disappointing.
Kristy Lee Cook, "You're No Good." Bizarre outfit, but she sounded pretty good. Seems to be
Amanda Overmeyer, "Carry On My Wayward Son." So as Randy would say, the verse was a little rocky, and as he did say, there were too many instrumental breaks. I thought she was great, but not perfect, and mostly
Alaina Whitaker, "Hopelessly Devoted to You." We dislike her. She's kinda boring, and it sounds like karaoke or pageant as Simon said, and it was a mess, and I hope that she's the blonde that's out this week.
Alexandrea Lushington, "If You Leave Me Now." She was completely unrecognizable from last week, both in singing and in her look, and she wasn't amazing, so I'm worried that she's going to get lost in the crowd this week. *votes*
Kady Malloy, "Magic Man." What is she wearing? Did she sing the melody at any point in that song? I will be sad if she's the blonde that's out this week instead of Alaina.
Asia'h Epperson, "All By Myself." Simon was completely right. And I'm annoyed because dude, Alaina might make it because of this shit.
I'm voting for Amanda, Alexandrea, and Syesha.

Date: 2008-02-28 05:25 am (UTC)I'm not sure who I'm voting for yet (she says, writing this as they're critiquing Asia'h). I liked a lot of the performances. I'll vote for Amanda, at least, because while I didn't like her performance tonight, I really want to keep her.
Also? If Kristy ends up going, the tradition of appropriate walk-off songs will be upheld in a funnier way.

Date: 2008-02-28 03:36 pm (UTC)I can't take "All By Myself" seriously no matter who sings it, but I thought Simon was right. (Same for "If You Leave Me Now"--can't take it seriously. I will forever associate it with the Pets.com dog.)
What was Simon's "I've never heard that" song from this week? I think it was Magic Man and I was totally shocked.
