Well, the final chapter and the epilogue of EWFS have come back from my beta [livejournal.com profile] thalialuna and gone off to [livejournal.com profile] johnwaltonto be Brit-picked. While the sequel continues to take shape in my head (reading a magazine article on the train tonight, something came into my mind so clearly that I had to run to my notebook as soon as I got in the door) I'm not doing any actual writing for quite a while, with the exception of a little smutty thing and a Christmas cookie.

To be honest, I feel a bit lost. What do I do with all that energy that went into the writing of this story? There is a great deal of reading ahead of me as I catch up on chapter owls (I'm in August!) and do research for the sequel, not to mention some very large RL things. But that little mental space that held EWFS, that was always sort of humming in the background, is mainly silent. The sequel is too vague and unformed to truly take its place as of yet.

Living in the land of beta and supportive writer-friend will be good--I'll recharge the batteries, spend some quality time in someone else's universe, and gain a little perspective on my own characters. But I am a little sad. The always-lovely [livejournal.com profile] thalialuna, bid a sweet farewell to the EWFS gang--and I suppose I should as well. When next we see them, they'll be battle-scarred, dealing (or not dealing) with the aftermath of the war that is only on the horizon in EWFS. They won't be the same people at all. I only hope I can continue to do them justice.

So, yeah. Watch this space.

Oh, I know you'll do them justice. ;)

::sighs:: It's gonna leave a gap in my life too. ::hugs EWFS gang::

I know what you mean. *starts to britpick*

BTW, Clio, your postcard arrived yesterday. Did you send it by owl? *grins* It's on the wall right now.

Did I "write the direction remarkably ill"? Alex got his a month ago. True, I was too much of a t00b to actually send it from CA, but I did send it the first week of October . . .

Anyhow, I'm glad you like it--I thought you would. ^_~
