Top Ten Drabble

Last week a debate broke out (well, not really a debate, since the "debaters" agreed) about the relative merits of the two TWoP Idol recappers, Jacob and Joe R., with comments running in favor of Jacob thanks to his crush on Ryan. Well, y'all should be pleased with the recap, which is pretty much dripping with Ryan-love. The drabble for the week, thanks to the influence of both Jacob and dana_kujan, centers on Ryan's superpower, which is to be the most adorable jack-booted thug ever: Sometimes You Make Me Want to Build a Model of the Eiffel Tower out of Belgian Waffles (scroll to the end).

Grading is a very frustrating thing, I have to say, though I'm sure that comment is very unsurprising to the teachers on my flist.

Well, it's not JUST the Ryan-love. ;) It's the show love. And I just...think Jacob's style is funnier, to me. But then, I have at least three friends who read TWOP, and we all love different people, and hate the people the others like. It's very strange. TWOP is like a taste test. ;)

And yesssss, I loved the recap, it was a lovely way to spend 45 minutes before woooork.

And, finally, I have been LOVING the drabbles. They're very cute and spiffy.

Personally, some of my favorite recaps are Keckler's of Top Chef and Couch Baron's of Veronica Mars. I like Jacob better, don't get me wrong, and I agree that Joe seems much more unhappy with Idol this season, I'm just not quite as dissatisfied with him. I was amazed at how gleeful Jacob was about Ryan, though.

Jacob > Joe R. It's his whole style of writing, but the Ryan love totally helps.

Love the new drabble. Me and a friend had a discussion one night, after the high heels/closet bit, about how Simon must have this kink for cross-dressing. Your mention of Ryan wearing the boots totally triggered that memory.

And Ryan and Blake do make a pretty couple. lol

I think Simon must, and I almost went there, but found subtlety to be my friend in the drabble department. However, Ryan might end up in full drag before the season is over.

It was the whole thing you pointed out about Simon staring at Ryan, which made me stop and think about their entire vibe and how much Simon would rather be staring at Ryan than pretty much doing anything else, and how Ryan can use that to his own advantage. Or really, to both of their advantages. Unfortunately for me (or fortunately, or would be if I didn't have a paper to write) my head has been full of images of Ryan in shiny black boots and leather shorts for most of the week.

i would just like to add that jacob recaps BSG and in my world he is GOD.
