Woe, Ryan is clean shaven. Also what the fuck is Paula wearing? It's like, Sears ca. 1980. Anyone want to explain that "all of Simon Cowell" intro?
God I love the group sings. They're cracktastic! Even more so when they're MEDLEYS! Especially when they have weirdass choreography that pairs some of them up like they were the wedding party from hell. LaKisha and Sanjaya? She could break him like a twig.
AND the first weirdass Ford ad, mysteriously to Modest Mouse's "Float On" which I'm sure came up to Sligh's coolness needs. I'm not sure what the hippie slash old school rap thing was about, since the hippies were around in the 60s and that adidas look was from the early 80s, but hey, I didn't style that shit.
Speaking of styling, the girls really went crazy with the flat iron tonight, didn't they? I didn't even recognize Jordin.
Okay, is it just me, or did Miss Ross sound like ass in the verse? She looked great in that red dress. I mean, the woman is a grandmother, so you gotta give it up to her. I adore that she went over and sang with Melinda, and that she totally took over her interview with Ryan and refused to say who was going home.
Re the bottom 3: I know that Dialidol is not that accurate with such a large field but they definitely had Brandon higher than that. That said, these are almost definitely the three guys that the judges felt didn't deserve to be in the top 12. I'm really surprised that Sanjaya was even in the bottom 2, but so unsurprised that Brandon is going home. Maybe Sanjaya won't have the staying power of season 3 John or season 5 Kevin, but I'm not holding my breath.
Actually, no. I'm pissed off, but at HIM. I voted a billion times to get his ass into the top 12 and he didn't bring it! I mean, even if he hadn't fucked up, it wasn't going to be an interesting performance. Man, like, whatever.
In a small note, Goil cried but did not get kicked off, instead the completely irritating Erik was kicked off, so I will continue to watch Top Design in the way that I have been the past couple of weeks, which is, off the tivo, ff'd through in about ten minutes.

Date: 2007-03-15 05:21 am (UTC)And oh, Diana...what was that singing? I get that she's much older than she was in the height of her fame, but that was just really bad. Really bad. But I liked her enormous boa thing.
And was totally unsurprised about Brandon. It was just...a train wreck. And sadly, imo, even moreso than Sanjaya's performance was. Which WAS boring, but between Brandon's voice CRACKING and missing the words AND being boring? It was a recipe for disaster. Poor thing. He didn't even get his national television singout.

Date: 2007-03-15 11:56 am (UTC)I'm surprised that Dialidol was so wrong about Sanjaya; they had him third or something, and well above all the people too close to call. Of course, this may be because people called for Sanjaya early, which can throw them off.

Date: 2007-03-15 06:06 am (UTC)And Diana Ross kinda sucked. I mean, she's on AI and so I immediately judge her as a contestant.
Wasn't too shocked about Brandon, but Sanjaya can at least pretend he's happy staying another week when the cameras are on him. Which just leads back to him not knowing how to work this show.

Date: 2007-03-15 08:05 pm (UTC)I didn't think she sucked? But I didn't think she was all that great.
Sanjaya should be studying tapes of Kevin, carefully, if he wants weirdo longevity.
Whoa..

Date: 2007-03-15 03:29 pm (UTC)I didn't think Diana Ross was very good either--glad it wasn't just me. I felt badly about it!

Date: 2007-03-15 10:16 pm (UTC)You know, Diana can be amazing, and then sometimes she's just so-so. Clearly she's not quite ready for the tour yet.
Dude, new Ugly Betty tonight!
