jlh: Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas at the Yule Ball in GoF (SD Yule Ball)

I have an S/D story off to the betas (world cup and wanking, how timely!) and it brought up all these thoughts and hey, I haven't really posted about HP writing in a little while so, warning, shippy thoughts ahead.

I was looking for a final line for the story and suddenly thought of Moby Dick, which reminded me of my very short mental list of Potential Halloween Costumes for Seamus and Dean. So far I have:
  1. Ishmael and Queequeg from Moby Dick. Like husband and wife. Requires harpoon.
  2. Angel and Collins from Rent. I'll cover you. Requires drag.
  3. Crockett and Tubbs from Miami Vice. You belong to the city. Requires stubble.
  4. Mel and Danny's characters from Lethal Weapon. It's probably me. Requires general insanity.
  5. Huck and Jim from Huck Finn. Weird dynamic. Requires raft.
Anything else you can think of? If this were a proper list, of course, there would be a joke at the end like, "two guys from Seven Samurai" or something.

Also, I realized I'd never made an icon from the GoF extras dancing moment so I was looking at it again today (can you look at it too much? I think not!) and I think Seamus is leading. You can see it at the end in the way he's sort of turning before Dean does and pulling him slightly. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Charlie and Louis from Kangaroo Jack?? Requires Outback accessories.

*runs and hides* But there's such a great line:
Charlie (to Louis): You save my life every day :)<333

Stupid movie, but it's got some cute lines.

aww, that is a great line. However, it cannot make up for a movie about a animatronic kangaroo who steals a jacket. ^_~

LOL, too true! But but but, the kangaroo talked in Adam Garcia's voice at the end...*grasps at fangirlish straws*

This would be better if I knew the specifics, but who are the guys from the movie who are chained together for the whole thing? And on the run?

While I realize it's not what you're refering to, I'm now getting images of Roger and Eddie from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Which I'm guessing isn't quite what Clio was after, but then again...

You mean The Defiant Ones (http://imdb.com/title/tt0051525/) with Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis. I think it's one of those start out hating each other and learn to get along sort of movies. Great suggestion!

My sentimental favorite from this list would be Crockett and Tubbs, but my head-spinning favorite is Ishmael/Queequeg.

And the part of me that is always getting into trouble says Rocky and Bullwinkle. :)

Aww, Rocky and Bullwinkle.

I know, I never thought of Ishmael/Queequeg until this morning! But I had forgotten just how adorable the beginning of that book is. They even meet cute! It's like the book starts out as a romantic comedy and then they get on the boat and it all goes to hell.

Well, hell, now I want to write Ishmael/Queequeg missing scenes. I mean, Moby Dick fanfic? How nerdy is that?

Anyway, in college (this would be in the very late 80s) I saw a student production of one of those twins separated Shakespeare comedies (I think All's Well that Ends Well) where the twins were played by a black actor and a white actor dressed up like Miami Vice.
