[This was written last night but then I went to bed early and forgot to post it. Enjoy.]

I finished that fucking steel book. Bane of my goddamned existence I tell you. I'm egging my prof's house for that one.

Someone read EWFS today and reviewed all the chapters. Warms my heart.

The TWOP AI recap came out today.

I got final jeopardy, and while I thought of the trap I avoided it!

Lime drops beat anxiety!

I talked to [livejournal.com profile] sisterpandora on her night off.

I have a wonderfully diverse friendlist! I am rarely overwhelmed by everyone talking about the same thing.

All these Billy CDs arrived today! 52nd Street, and Turnstiles, The Bridge, Streetlife Serenade, The Stranger...I think there's like three I don't have now.

52nd Street is so good. I really love Zanzibar, like, tons. It's a close second favorite to Nylon Curtain for me. I don't listen to it enough, likely because I still only have it on vinyl . . .

You'll have to tell me what you think! [livejournal.com profile] ali_wildgoose is also a huge Billy Joel fan.

However, his young wife? She's hosting a reality show, this contest for chefs, and man is SHE a wet noodle. Gorgeous, and seems nice enough, but personality minus.

Well, he IS, you know, midlife crisis boy, so he probably didn't marry her for her looks.

I am still waiting for Nylon Curtain to get here.

I listen to say, Turnstiles, Streetlife Serenade, etc, and I am pretty much 'But the live versions on Songs on the Attic are so much better!'

That is probably my favourite Billy album; that or the Stranger or StormFront.

The live versions are better, especially of the stuff from Streetlife Serenade, because his band was better. But I think Turnstiles is a good listen from beginning to end, and while the stuff from Streetlife Serenade that doesn't make the cut to Songs in the Attic is pretty forgettable, there are a lot of great songs on Turnstiles that aren't on Songs in the Attic—like "James" which has always been a favorite of mine. Loving Songs in the Attic makes you so old school "I was country when country wasn't cool" you know.

I very much look forward to your reactions to Nylon Curtain and 52nd Street. I am tempted to find a way to get the digital songs from you since nearly everything I own of Billy is on vinyl.

The Stranger is so classic and that's because it's so strong. "Vienna" is probably one of my favorite songs of his. And I do like Storm Front. It's very well produced.

Well, I could always burn you copies, no problem. I have now spent the past day listening to 52nd Street, and I like it a lot, but I don't love it.

(And then I listen to The Bridge, and go WTF?)

I share your anxiousness, but am quelling with chocolate rather than lime drops....though it's very likely that if I had limedrops, I'd use those too. So I support you in your wibblyness...

You wouldn't, because they are simply a shot of vodka with some lime juice and a bit of sugar.

However, for you, I would make fizzy ginger limeade which is close to the best thing ever.
