Whirl of Gaiety
Apr. 15th, 2006 06:49 pmI like, so ran about this week, even with the cold.
I cooked up a storm this morning after waking rather early. I found I'd run out of butter so I ran down to the bodega on the corner—this was at about 7:30am—and lo, there were three working girls on my stoop, complete with pimp across the street shouting after them. Bit late for that, even in this neighborhood. I made black bean soup, paprika chicken and roasted asparagus, and pans of polenta stuffed peppers and breaded pork are in the fridge ready for the oven. Since then I've been working and vaguely watching some history documentaries on my TIVO. Sooooo geeking out.
- Tuesday, VM at chez
mistful. Had jalepeño poppers and french fries drowned in ketchup for dinner. - Wednesday, seder at chez
idlerat, given by
bowdlerized. The food was completely amazing, go Jane! Company was excellent. And Sarah's Haggadah gave us all a part to play which was fun. I made three batches of fudge for the occasion and have been giving it to hosts of one sort or another all week. - Thursday, got out of work early and ran a couple of errands, go me!
- Friday, ran up to see
bhanesidhe last night with
ali_wildgoose. Much fun was had, much cheap Chinese food was eaten (well, not by Val), more fudge was given away by yours truly.

Date: 2006-04-16 04:31 pm (UTC)So, you will not believe what happened- my sister STOLE MY FUDGE! When the family was gone, only one bag of fudge remained- the one Bow had carefully concealed with her infallible instinct for fudge preservation. What kind of a person calls herself my sister and then STEALS MY PENUCHE???
Bow shared. Bow. So good! (Also the fudge. :)

Date: 2006-04-17 04:59 pm (UTC)Dude, that is so much with the wrong. There is still more fudge here than I can eat despite my having given a bunch of it away. I'm sadly out of bags now but I'll send another packet of fudge with Sarah if I see her for VM or get it to you two somehow! Because you really should have all the penuche you deserve, hello.
