Seriously, Ryan and Simon are trying to kill me. Well, me and Joe R. at TWOP.

Ryan is so gay moment #437: Taking off Mandisa's shoes. They had a real fag and his hag dynamic didn't they? Also, he complimented her "moisturized" ankles.
Signs that Ryan and Simon had a bunch of sex this weekend
—or—
Signs that despite her best efforts Clio is sliding into the great RPS abyss:
  • Ryan throwing Mandisa's shoe to Simon.
  • Ryan, after teasing Simon about hair: "That's as good as it gets." (Also awesome that Bucky completely didn't get the joke.)
  • Simon staring at Ryan as Ryan tells him to watch Lisa
  • Simon's little smile of "yeah, and you love it" when Ryan said, "Simon is my hell."
  • And of course, Simon's wink after Chris sang which I watched 5 times

But let's move on to all Stevie all the time. I continue to have little patience for the walk and wave; it's so parade of nations at the Miss World pageant. Clearly they'll be singing "My Cherie Amour" tomorrow night during the results show which is too bad because I think it's really boring.
  1. Ace, "Do I Do." Eh. But it didn't completely suck and he's cute and they picked a good segment of it for the recap. Besides, he's still hot. No worries.
  2. Kellie, "Blame It on the Sun." Why did they make Kellie look like Jessica Simpson? How awful. I'm not on the Kellie train but my god she was boring. Ugh, the schtick, enough already.
  3. Elliott, "Knocks Me Off My Feet." While Elliott is a boo, I fear that because he isn't a charming hottie that he will be gone if he has an off night. He didn't tonight but it wasn't awesome either. He got my vote at least.
  4. Mandisa, "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing." Mandisa rules me. This wasn't her best but even her B game is better than almost anyone else in this competition. They styled her beautifully, too; I love that they didn't feel the need to cover her up and I agree as her skin is gorgeous.
  5. Bucky, "Superstition." In Julie's words, Bucky looks like a Breck girl. Ace he ain't. I really love this song and Bucky didn't exactly do him proud but it was okay. Eh.
  6. Melissa, "Lately." I continue to be overwhelmed by Melissa. Her voice has a really lovely smoky tone but she isn't really connecting with anyone at all and I feel rather badly about that. Meanwhile, pick a key, honey. Preferably the one the band is playing in.
  7. Lisa, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered." Say no to the hip belt Lisa. She still strikes me as someone who is acting as a singer, rather than being one. I don't get feeling, just technique. I wish she'd take her guitar and start some awesome band.
  8. Kevin, "Part Time Lover." Are you fucking kidding me? He hugs a nine year old girl and then sings that? America, for the love of mike, end the joke!
  9. Katharine, "Until You Come Back to Me." Gorgeous from the waist up, 1974 Karen Carpenter from the waist down for reasons that escape me. I mean, if she didn't have that perfect ass [livejournal.com profile] ladyjaida and I wouldn't want to tap it. Singing was truly awesome once again.
  10. Taylor, "Living for the City." Perfect song, great performance, weird blues brothers-esque dancing, finally no more "wooo!"
  11. Paris, "All I Do." She was fantastic but she still has to watch sounding like she's in Vegas. Apparently when she gets overexcited she either sounds like a pickaninny ("It do!") or she starts singing.
  12. Chris, "Higher Ground." My other personal lust object of the competition. Perfect, perfect, perfect. I'm a little taken aback by the overly groomed facial hair. The smoke machine almost made up for that though.
As Simon noted it was an incredibly uneven show as it is in the early rounds until the pretenders shake out. Unfortunately someone actually good often falls out along the way.

Um, so like, AI has theme nights once they go into the finals? and tonight's theme was Stevie Wonder, and so he was there and stuff.

For a fuller recap you might want to read Television Without Pity (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com?). I'm just trying to put down my impressions of the show but my posts really aren't full recaps and I know you have questions I don't answer in the posts.
