I'm sure there are things more beautiful than trees laden with snow, but at the moment I can't think of any. I love winter and am rather excited that we had a record snowstorm over the weekend, though I admit the lightning was rather bizarre. Still, everything looks prettier covered in snow.

I have one of those colds that makes you restless and fuzzy-headed. I'm really glad I have a week off of classes because working is rather difficult at the moment. Concentration levels are low and I have mostly accomplished sudoku and watching the Olympics. I'm drinking a lot of Zen tea and water and will probably go get juice later when I bring in my laundry.

I was relieved my cold gave me enough of a break yesterday to attend

ali_wildgoose's birthday party. Everyone trudged out in the snow to the South Slope and had a good time eating sushi and cupcakes and such.

emsariel asked me to bring a mix on my ipod and I was happy to see that it went over so well.

Friday I saw Transamerica with

mistful, her friend in from Ireland, and

ladyjaida. I highly recommend it; I'm not sure where I got the impression that it might be kind of a downer but it's a comedy, actually, and full of great moments. However, I wonder why in every road movie some sort of disaster occurs, like a sudden loss of money and/or transportation? I mean, isn't there enough inherent weirdness without additional adversity? It was the one moment in this otherwise completely original film that felt stale and tired to me; there could have been another plot device to force them to stop where they did later.

Now I'm going to go be very proactive and get ahead in my reading despite having the week off of classes.
