Thankful.

I don't defend my choice of friends anymore, to anyone. So I don't have anything to say about people talking about things they don't know anything about.

However, I can say that rubydebrazier is over the moon about the toys! You have taken a crap situation and made something amazing out of it and for that I thank you. About the drabble: no one really asked for one. (Well, tea_and_toast did, but I think that was mostly because she was all "Whee! Furuba!") I'm choosing to think this is because my flist gives without needed drabble and not because you distrust my ability to drabble. Said drabble will arrive later today, as I sit here waiting for the plumber.

Today, I'm thankful for the fandom. If not for fandom I wouldn't have met so many people who are true friends of mine; I would never have started writing fiction; I might never have rediscovered my intellect, long buried due to my industry, where I had to not be so smart. It has changed the way I think about the future, and it has brought me back to myself. I know it's not very fashionable to say that you've gotten anything from fandom, or that you care about it in any way, but you know, I'm willing to look like the totally lame geek I am. Thanks.
