I have been spending money lately. I went shopping last weekend and got two dresses and a very cool pair of jeans. I also bought a bunch of other stuff, as below. Thanks to everyone who's been so great lately. Sorry I've been a bit unstable. Hold tight, there will be a bit of spam this afternoon.
Arrived this week, the CoS DVD and the British adult cover paperbacks. Those adult covers are so GREAT! I also pre-orderd OotP, so that will be on its way while I'm reading the American version. Funny, even though the American paperbacks are what I own, I read them in the British versions borrowed from my friend S. I think I'll keep the British ones pristine and muck up the American ones with scribbling. They already have green post-it tabs at all the Seamus mentions.
Also, in sequel news, Harry has spent the last two weeks telling me of his love and lust for Hermione and how he feels about the whole hero thing. The pieces are coming together, yes they are.
Also arrived this week, the DVDs of the three Lord Peter/Harriet Vane mysteries: Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, and Gaudy Night. SO excited to watch them, I haven't seen them since they were first broadcast over 10 years ago, and I didn't see the end of Gaudy Night! I read the books very shortly thereafter, and those three books plus Busman's Honeymoon are some of my favorite books ever. As George Michael said, everybody wants a lover like that. Catching your quotes and throwing them back? There is nothing sexier.
In a slightly different vein, I recently reread one of the Roderick Alleyn mysteries by Ngaio Marsh. Great books, these, and Agatha Troy is really an amazing match for Alleyn. If you like Harriet and Peter, Artists in Crime, where Alleyn meets Troy, is well worth reading.
