Only three more, woe!
Aug. 7th, 2005 09:06 pmOh my yes I'm premenstrual. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition starts at 8pm and I started to tear up at 8:05pm. However, Ty still gets on my last nerve.
I've been craving carbs like a mofo and had to go out today to get some supplies to satisfy me. The Amish is my local market, which is not actually run by Amish folk but by some nice Turks who got a satellite radio for the store which has only made the usually bizarre and random music selection in the store that much crazier. They used to alternate between Streisand singing Broadway and Shakira which I always thought was a nice commentary on my gay/Puerto Rican neighborhood. Today, while grabbing spiced sweet potato chips, I got "Touch Me in the Morning." Next door at the drug store I filled my sudden need for toffee popcorn while listening to "Didn't We Almost Have It All?". I guess it was the Day of Mature Bittersweet Break-Up Songs.
I've been loading up on Six Feet Under lately, not only to get caught up myself but to catch up
ali_wildgoose on Tuesday,
bowdlerized yesterday and
calloocallay tomorrow. Plus I've been whipping through recaps and I remembered that one thing I really love about this show is how they allow the characters to act like assholes, to do really ill advised and selfish things, to be completely tiresome, and even better they don't ask the audience to just love them anyway because they have issues or whatever. I mean, Rico and the stripper? Asshole! David getting over his carjacking? Tiresome! Brenda discovering her sexuality or whatever? Irritating! Claire quitting her job and moping around? Self-indulgent! And then they pull them back from being total assholes, and you scream "Oh my god what are you doing?" to some other character.
God I'm going to miss this show.

Date: 2005-08-08 07:56 pm (UTC)I cut it because I wrote it, looked at it, and thought it was kinda boring. Also, I sort of wanted the point of the post to be SFU, not the weirdo music at the Amish market.
Clearly, I have no shame about carbs, particularly when I'm PMSing.
