So after staying up too late due to a combination of not dealing and not wanting to deal, I roll out of bed and grab a cab, making it to the airport bus with nary a second to spare. Song is not quite as fun as Jet Blue but I'm not going to turn my nose up at tickets for miles, certainly. My flight from JFK to LAX is a code share continuation of an El Al flight from Tel Aviv, so I am sharing the plane with about twelve large Israeli families, though their children are so exhausted from all the travel they've already done that it really doesn't matter. That said, I'm not sure why all of Israel needed to be in Los Angeles on a Tuesday. Song does have an excellent library of mp3s, meaning I don't have to use up the juice on my ipod. Instead, I listen to The Shins on someone else's dime, and A/B this with checking on our flights progress on the dynamic map. I love the tv-in-the-seat thing.
Landing I'm walking up to baggage claim when I realize I don't quite remember how to get from the airport to D's, so I turn on my phone to call him when lo, there he is, unexpectedly picking me up. I abandon the rental car and happily join D in his oh-so-sweet Boxter convertible.
After a bit of a rest, Cassie and Moony show up and we walk on the beach and talk about this that and the other before returning to go out with D for dinner at Yi Cuisine. It was incredibly good except for the weirdly and dangerously undercooked chicken dumpling. Then Moony and Cassie were off and D and I returned home.
And the morning and the evening were the first day.
