And I will say, somewhat in my defense, that there is a lot of horror on this list and I do not do horror, at all, under any circumstances. (For that reason, I'd love to see weatherby take on this meme.) On the other hand, I think I added the first musicals other than Moulin Rouge and Chicago. In other words, not my list, but it gave me an inspiration for something else. I suspect this has been by Aja as there is a suspicious little run of Kate Hepburn in there. As for tarie's taste in movies: How could you have not seen Garden State?

Oooh, I think you will really really like it, Tarie. Out of the three really big "buzz" movies from last year--Napoleon Dynamite, Garden State, and Closer--it was the one that really stayed with me the longest. It has a great soundtrack as well, which a movie should have if it possibly can. :)

I think I did this meme ages ago, Clio! --I could probably do it again and come up with a completely different list this time around, but what's interesting me most this moment is that I don't know what Party Girl is!

Party Girl is a movie with Parker Posey. It's not her best, but I do love her in just about anything.

Party Girl is a really fun movie about a downtown girl named Mary who goes to work at the NY Public Library and falls in love with the Dewey Decimal System and a falafel vendor named Mustafa. Totally worth renting.

P.S. I think you'd find O Brother Where Art Thou extremely interesting, if not thoroughly enjoyable. It's very, very imaginative and is an incredibly artful look at the Depression-Era deep South through music and folklore. It's my favorite Cohen Brothers film. (Is it Coen or Cohen? Meh.)
