This weekend I am not cleaning anything because I am not home; I'm visiting [livejournal.com profile] tromboneborges for the weekend. However, I will be working at some point later, so there you go.

And remind me, no challenges! No challenges!

I am very excited about vacations right now. I am going to visit my very close friend D for a week later this month, and as I haven't seen him in several months I'm all asquee about it, now that I have my plane ticket and my car reservation and the whole thing seems real. D has a new boyfriend that I've heard about but haven't met so that should be great. And my beloved C will be coming out for part of that week, which I'm really happy about not only because I love C, and because C and D enjoy each other's company and haven't seen each other in a good long while, but because C's dad died this winter and I really wanted him to take a vacation that got him away from home.

And then, my darling P called (he of the Seamus-model) and we realized that we both have a lot of vacation time to burn up and agreed to burn it together at some point in the late fall. Any suggestions on where we should go? No beaches, because I don't really like them, and he's about to go on some crazy gay cruise with his friend K anyway. I can't wait to hear the stories from that because K is one of the most misnanthropic people I've ever met, and the thought of him stuck on a boat with a bunch of plebey gay boys looking for action will never stop being funny.

Any suggestions on where we should go?

Depends - do you want to stay stateside or go wandering across to other nations? I would vote for England (or, really, any European country that holds your interest, particularly if there are other t00bs you could visit along the way). We went in Nov 2002 and it was great. I'm also personally very fond of Austria (Salzburg and Vienna), and I've always wanted to go to Italy. More locally, Lake Tahoe, CA is spectacular any time of year, and they'll have started to have some snow by late fall. And Washington, DC is always fun just for general t00bery. Is that too close by?

P and I ran around Europe for a month together during school, though I haven't been to Italy yet. I would feel sort of funny bringing a nonfandom person to England because I would want to see everyone while I was there.

He lives in DC, actually. But Tahoe is a thought.

Hm. Late fall? Take a drive up through New England. I've always wanted to do that and plan to do so at Witching Hour.

I think you should because it's spectacular.

But I'm from Maine and we met at college in Boston so we've sort of done that.
