What the hell happened to Clio this afternoon?

What happened was, my work computer died. It kept making a horrible clicking noise, and then it froze, and when I tried to shut down it said it had a "kernel" error of some sort (yes, I wrote it down and told the work IT folks exactly what it said) and I restarted and it sort of came back. So I called IT and they said, "Get everything you love off your Cdrive." So I duly moved many things onto my personal drive on the server. And then it did it again, and it never came back.

So, many apologies to Rach and Emily! And here's hoping that I will have a computer tomorrow, because work is mad crazy with some tough deadlines this month, hence the relative hibernation on my part, followed by the crazy chatting in the evenings because working a lot of hours is lonely, not because I am actually alone of course, but because I'm with, like, work people and not, like, fun people.

However, I finally have a handle on my ficathon H/H thing, so I want to write that this weekend. Also cook, because I'm over not having food in the house. Though I am revisiting my usual summer obsessions of cereal, tomato salad, gazpacho, cheese, and raisin toast.

You have my complete sympathy. I went through the same thing a few months back. Thank goodness hubby has his own computer, which I'm now using. I have a new hard drive, but we couldn't get it to recognise the modem before Andy left town for his summer job. Hopefully he'll have a day or two off in the next couple weeks to come home and will get it working while he's here. In the meantime, I have a huge stack of disks sitting around with all my files on them, making it time consuming and irritating as hell to try and find anything. *sigh*
