Please, back to normal!
Oct. 27th, 2003 10:25 pm(I hate lj, and apologize for that half a post from earlier.)
Well, that big project that was mostly keeping me away the last two weeks is over. The presentation was today, I heard it went well. We are supposed to know by Friday, but I'm not depending on that. However, now you know why you suddenly got comments from me today for stuff you posted like, ten days ago.
Also, I meant to pimp this before. If you liked Kill Bill, by all means read Rene's fantastic essay on the film and the exploitation genre.
A while ago I made a post here about labels, and I am confessing that there was one label that I think I was resisting, but that I may now have made peace with. I had been avoiding talking about certain things in my personal life because they involved a close personal friend whose coattails I didn't want to seem to be riding. But I've come to the conclusion that people will think I am or am not despite what I actually do here, so fuck the entire enterprise. In other words, if you want to think of me as a mindless fangirl of my friend Cassie, or worse yet, some sort of gatekeeper or attack dog, then there is really nothing I can do about that. So with that in mind, I'm going to talk about her all I want, and comment in her journal, and just do whatever.
Anyway, this Friday I actually left work before midnight and spent some much-needed time at home just faffing around. Saturday I posted some femslash and then headed out to the Avocado and saw
epicyclical, and we were later joined by
ali_wildgoose,
bhanesidhe, and
digikym. We bought hair dye and ate sushi and talked and talked and talked and much fun was had by all. (But Cassie, I'm not sure I got my roots so well, after all. Wah, I suck. Better luck next time.) I stayed over, as is my wont, and then Sunday we ate with
ladyjaida and faffed around some more, and then got rather angry as you no doubt saw, and then much later
tromboneborges and his pals showed up and we had dinner and then I went home.
And today, I finally went through LJ, and had dinner with my friend Emily, and now I'm home stressing about Halloween because I am a lame person who doesn't own things that can be made into cool costumes and I am frustrating poor
sloanesomething but the gels want to go to the parade. WAH! I have always hated Halloween, there is nothing to be, all I can do is retro makeup, but with all those drag queens in the village what is the point in being glam? I will just look like a really sucky drag queen!
