Whee! New Clothes, and stuff
Oct. 8th, 2003 10:32 amWow. I last was on LJ at about 10pm Monday night. I got home last night—well, really this morning—at 3am and I was at skip=80. This is a crazy thing. I was also a little woozy because I was sick, so I got confused between the Fred Phelps marriage thing and the James and Oliver Phelps told about twincest thing, so I was like, why do we suddenly hate the actor who plays Fred?
So, my uncle came out when I was seven, which meant that I was lucky enough that when I was a child and being told about relationships and the birds and the bees and all that, homosexuality got lumped in with heterosexuality. I think that's a good thing. I think Bush is an ass, but then, I already thought that.
On the other hand, I'm also Catholic, as is my mother and my aforementioned uncle. The Episcopal church just elected a gay bishop. This isn't about accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, people, any more than certain terrorist groups are about Islam per se. So, back off the "crazy Christian" stuff because it's insulting. Instead, say this: I'm very angry with the Catholic Church hierarchy and the Southern Baptist Convention for their public stands against homosexuality. Which, I am.
Anyway,
blackholly and I went shopping yesterday, and took the stores by storm (especially Torrid, which is a plus size Hot Topic and totally rocks) and I got two new pairs of trousers, two shirts, two dresses, two cardigans, some jewelry, some shoes, a replacement black hoodie, and three cds. I love seeing what is on sale in the CD section at places like Target because they discount great stuff since their clientele is not that adventurous. Fifteen years ago I got Fables of the Reconstruction and Life's Rich Pageant for $7 each in a discount bin at KMart. This time, I got OK Computer for $10. Go me!
god, Arnold. bleck.
I have favorites in the Major League Baseball ALCS and the NLCS but the fact that I am not saying who they are because I'm superstitious probably tells you who they are.
