Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] eibbil_libbie! Have a great one!

Also big congratulations to the National Merit Scholar Semifinalists on my friends list! Being a National Merit Scholar is probably the thing I'm most proud of from my high school career. It's a great ride. Go you!

I'm sending good vibes to [livejournal.com profile] msscribe, but I wanted to send something more. I'd been thinking of a mix cd for a while, dedicated to her because she's such a fighter in all ways really, so I'm asking you all for songs about fighting or getting ready to fight or telling someone that you will fight them if they don't get out of your face. Off the top of my head I can think of "Getting in the Way" by Jill Scott and "Rip Her to Shreds" by Blondie and also perhaps "Tyrone" by Erykah Badu. Any suggestions you have would be welcome.

[livejournal.com profile] fick_l_rene is leaving this morning and I am inconsolable. But C is actually coming this weekend, which is entirely unexpected as I would have bet money he wasn't going to show up. And another friend who lives in Japan will be here randomly on Sunday. So this weekend will be pretty cool, looks like.

[livejournal.com profile] misscora, wah, I miss you! *yearns*

Kung-Fu Fighting, by Carl Douglas. Old 70's song.

That's all I can think of right now.

How about "Mamma Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J? That song just screams fighting to me.

Hugs,

Yes by McAlmont & Butler - more of a "your garbage won't hold me back" type of song, but fightie in essence.

Well, there is "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera, but I'd hate to suggest anything by the wicked witch of matted, bleach-blonde hair.

Ehmmm, here are the real suggestions:

-"Ready or Not" - by the Fugees
-"We Are the Champions" - by Queen
-"We Will Rock You" - by Queen
-"Bad to the Bone" - by George Thorogood
-"Watch Me Shine" - by Vanessa Carlton
-That "I'm Too Sexy" song (no idea who sang that)
-"Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin (Not about fighting, but it gets your blood pumping)

"I'm Too Sexy" is by Right Said Fred. (I'm a DJ, so sorry for nerding on your reply)

BTW, you've got great taste in music.

Okay, as cheesy as it sounds, "Battleflag" by the Lo Fidelity All Stars makes you want to wlak in slow motion, whip out a slow-motion stic, and beat the slow-motion crap out of someone.

THANK YOU. That's been bugging me ever since I thought of it. Am putting together a playlist tomorrow (a sort of special one) so I have music on the brain.

I WAS. wah. I think the rest of the time you were here it was like you just lived her and you weren't leaving, until last night when we were sucking down sangria and it was like, DUDE, she's like, not going to BE HERE TOMORROW. and I was all, wah!

But I'm glad you're safe and sound. muah.
