Baaa. Character meme.
May. 22nd, 2003 12:08 amThis is one of those times that I'm really glad that I write about Seamus and Dean, since I haven't seen them done yet. This is also one of those times when I shudder to do something after Cassie has done it.
My Seamus:
- Has six older sisters who put him in dresses when he was a child. This has nothing to do with his sexuality but everything to do with his belief in his own beauty and his comfort with drag.
- However, is not actually all that good-looking. Makes up for it with charm, fashion sense and a good haircut.
- Is not that close to said sisters because they were so much older. Is somewhat close to his mother. Because of this, he loves and trusts women, he just doesn't care to sleep with them.
- Is very close to his Da (who is, of course, a Muggle) and because of this knows a good deal about Muggle culture, just not football, because Da thinks it cannot compare to Quidditch so why bother.
- Loves to fly and is actually a very good flyer, but hates competitive sport.
- Has a horse, his only real pet, which he got when he was six. Was nearly inconsolable when told he couldn't bring him to Hogwarts.
- Hates to be alone.
- Hates silence.
- Cannot sit still.
- Is smart enough when he applies himself. Finds precious little is worth the effort.
- Hates herbology; has a black thumb. Trades help from Neville for potions help.
- Was under the sorting hat for so long because he was flirting with it so it wouldn't put him in Hufflepuff. The sorting hat wanted to because he is loyal but realized he would never be really hardworking, no matter the environment.
- Wants absolute control over his life and the lives of everyone around him, because he thinks he knows best. Is right often enough to keep the illusion alive. This is actually the thing that binds his friendship with Hermione. It is also the thing that infuriates Dean the most.
- Is rather hot headed when all is said and done, especially on behalf of his friends.
- Almost never thinks before plunging ahead.
- Has truly horrible handwriting, which means he was preordained to go into healing.
- Loves kids. Blithely assumes that being gay won't be a hindrance to having them.
- Thinks that Dean is quite possibly the only sane person in the universe, and definitely the only sane person to ever live in Gryffindor Tower, and that includes McGonagall.
- Secretly believes his mission on Earth is to further Dean's art by whatever means necessary.
- Is afraid to believe in love.
- Is amazed that Dean is not.
My Dean:
- Has a younger brother he adores and an older half-brother he hasn't met.
- Thinks his father is a shit and wishes his mother would leave him.
- Always knew something would take him out of West Ham but never thought it would be magic.
- Hates dogs.
- Has decided that being gay isn't really a big part of his personality.
- However, is glad he's gay because girls are complicated and weird.
- Is annoyed that Seamus is complicated and weird.
- Does not realize that he, too, is complicated and weird.
- Was far too shy to befriend Harry first year, even though they were the only Muggle-raised boys in their house year. Admires Seamus for doing so and bringing him along, as Harry is a straight-shooting sort of fellow who is good to know.
- Clings to Muggle artifacts so he can be different without being different.
- Draws so he can think.
- Draws so he can avoid thinking.
- Draws so he can stare without freaking people out.
- Thinks the best parts of being a wizard are the moving art and the speedy transport.
- Loves being tall.
- Had a crush on Prof. Lupin during 3rd year. Wanted to go say goodbye to him but he felt shy.
- Stuttered as a child and still has a slight halt to his voice, which is why he doesn't talk much.
- Wonders why he is in Gryffindor as he doesn't think of himself as brave, ever.
- Is very good at charms.
- Cannot get used to robes.
- Learned from his early magical experiences (pre-Hogwarts) to give up any sense of control over events and just trust in the universe.
- Is slow to anger, but has a vicious temper once he gets there.
- Can be very still, but is also capable of surprisingly rapid movement.
- Has a dry, biting sense of humor, but always mutters his jokes under his breath, so few people know this.
- Secretly thinks his mission in life is to keep Seamus from breaking his fool neck.
- Doesn't tell Seamus how much he loves him because he knows it scares Seamus a little.
- Realizes it doesn't scare him one bit, and that he might just be brave after all.
