2014 Writing Year in Review

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Less, because I had another long story in planning that I still haven't entirely worked out, and also I had a bout of writer's block in the early summer.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2014?
My Yuletide pairing, Laurel/Michaela for HTGAWM, because that show didn't exist yet!
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
It is incredibly hard to choose between The Maternal Instincts of Betas and Follow Your Groove, so I won't.

Nothing stands out. Quadratic Functions, Pulling on All Your Threads, and Betas are all at about the same level.
Story most under appreciated by the universe:
Maybe all of them? Follow Your Groove hasn't had much time to get attention, but I admit I'm not disappointed so much as sad that it doesn't have as many readers.
Most fun story:
Pulling on All Your Threads and Your Soul on a Plate. Those competitive reality AUs are just super fun and fast to write.
Sexiest story:
Quadratic Functions, easily. Figuring out how four people in a polyamorous relationship could talk about and then try to fulfill each other's fantasies had me doing a lot of thinking!
Story with single sexiest moment:
Probably Quadratic Functions, but you can pick which one!
Story with single sweetest moment:
All stories about Scott and Allison have sweet moments, so probably Follow Your Groove when they're playing guitar together on the beach, or Betas when they realize that they've imprinted.
Hardest story to write:
Maternal Instincts of Betas, because I really wanted the story to live up to the universe that I'd created with the first two stories, Migratory Patterns of Omegas and Mating Rituals of Alphas. Also Alphas is SO popular and I knew that Betas, not being slash, wouldn't be read nearly as much and while it's good to be realistic it can be demotivating.
Easiest story to write:
Pulling on All Your Threads and Your Soul on a Plate, each of which was written in about a week.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I feel like every year what I learn is that it's always worth it to write what I want to write. I end up doing that anyway, but the less I stress over it the better off I am. Luckily I've been able to get a lot of the more negative voices away from me so that's been easier.
I also wrote stories that were, not unhappy but perhaps a bit more melancholy, like The Willow Turns Her Back. I found that I could do those as well as the happy ones. So that was good to learn.
Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
As always, giving myself the cookies! This year was better for that than years past, and that was a good thing because I ended up not writing a single slash story this year, and when you're not writing slash, you're certainly not getting much attention from the masses, at least, in fandoms dominated by slash.
Another goal is to hopefully clean up some lingering stories that I want to write. It would be amazing to start 2016 with an entirely clean slate.
