We're fine here in Baltimore. Our piece of the quake lasted 10-15 seconds, just long enough to figure out what it was and get in a doorway. (Thank heaven my partner's from California!)
I really appreciate your concern. I even appreciate the fact that you're shook up. When I got on-line this evening, I had to slog through the usual snark on Twitter. Apparently, we east coasters are wimps and have no right to be shaken up since we went through nothing compared to Japan. Also, we east coasters can't be concerned about our little slice of the world and Libya at the same time, which makes us bad people. Or something.
I'm glad you and yours are well! That was an unexpected thingum!
Whatever snark. People snark any time anything happens, seriously, because blah blah blah. I find it less some "proof" of better priorities and more yet another sign of people's fundamental lack of empathy. It's gross.
