WIP Update!

jlhThis weekend was all about getting some things cleaned up and either posted or sent to beta! Posted since last time:
I made a series on AO3, Imagine Me and You, to link all my non-AU Rymon stories. When I'm feeling ambitious some rainy day I'll also link the stories on LJ and DW. According to AO3, I've written a total of 81,534 words of non-AU Rymon in 52 works: 21 fics, two ficlets, two double drabbles, and 27 drabbles.
Then I sent a huge pile of Kirk/McCoy stuff to beta!
Currently I'm working on the AI9 '70s Laurel Canyon AU, Crystal/Lily, whichverity very kindly agreed to beta! Excitement! Polyamourous femslash in which I attempt to reverse Bechdel and have no men talking to each other at all, and two women as close to never talking about a man as I can get. Once the '70s AU is finished it will be all bingo and HP all the time around here.
Idol starts up again tomorrow, and while I did make my goal of posting the rest of the Rymon fic by then, the '70s AU isn't done; my new date is when the live shows start sometime toward the end of February. It's a little anti-climactic, posting these fics now; they really should have been finished before the big bang fic, which was written as an ending, but ah well. Everything isn't tidy.
I'd wanted to have a fic for each season, to tie them up in a nice bow, and to do a little something in the historical AU vein for season 9, so I'll have done that and I feel weirdly ... satisfied. I'm not really leaving Rymon behind, though I am setting them aside for a while, and I feel like I'm leaving them in such a good place. I started a story and now I've finished it and I'm really satisfied and happy.
I think HP will be the same once it's done. I'd sort of stumbled into writing Draco/Ginny and Harry/Hermione in these parallel but contrasting ways, and when I'm done I'll have brought Seamus/Dean and Parvati/Pansy up to the same level, though S/D will surpass that because of the![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
fanfic100 claim. And again, I feel like I'll be leaving them all in a really good place, tied up in a bow with all the holes filled in. There's stuff to do, to be sure, but it's good stuff.
Of course to get all these things accomplished, and the ten women, I need to set Jim and Bones aside for a bit, but I have a backlog of comment fic and another fic to finish and they'll be floating amusingly in the background of all this other Trek fic just as Spock, Uhura, Gaila, M'Benga, Chapel, Rand, Scotty, Chekov, Sulu and Carol Marcus hovered in the background of the Kirk/McCoy fics. The other folks should have their turn in the sun, after all!
Potterfic: Completed by July 15, 2011, when the last movie comes out. To be written:

- Desert Hearts, Ryan/Simon season 3, to fulfill the "experimental: biting" square on my kiss bingo.
- Saving Face, Ryan/Simon season 4, a long-planned rewrite of Who's Afraid of Janis Ian?
- Score, Score, Score, Score!, Ryan/Simon pre-season 7, to fulfill the "uniform/military fetish" square on my kink bingo.

- White Collar, Diana, maybe this AU in my head where Diana is a little older and was on that case where Peter met Elizabeth, only everyone is gay and it's Diana who asks Elizabeth out (after Peter's bad advice to just basically stalk her) and then Diana and El make fun of Peter's crush on Neal. I'm worried this AU will piss off hard core Peter/Elizabeth shippers, and I admit that I adore them to teeny tiny bits, but I'm finding this interesting. And it isn't from a Peter/Neal place either, so there.
