and I won't work for nobody but you
Sep. 24th, 2010 02:05 pmLook, it's slow at work, and my HP muse can't figure out what to do with this scene and I'm editing the rpf bb at home and I can't really pull out the notebook to write the quincedes so it's memes.
First, from like, half my flist:
Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in - it can be anything from the house I live in to my favorite shoes. Leave your choice here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an LJ entry. That way you get to know a little bit about my life, if you're remotely interested in it.
Next, here's another meme from the lovely
canis_takahari:
- Leave a comment saying "Dammit, Jim!"
- I'll ask you five questions to satisfy my curiosity.
- Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
- Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions.
Here are the questions she asked me!
1. Jim Kirk is auditioning for American Idol. WHAT DOES HE SING?
He wants to sing "Black Days" by Soundgarden and everyone's like, "Simon doesn't like dark songs" so he thinks about "Interstate Love Song" for a moment before deciding to go with "Wild Horses." He brings his guitar.
2. What was your very first fandom? How did you get into it?
Well, I did write a lot of self-insert slashy Duran Duran porn when I was 13, but I only showed it to a friend so I'm not sure that's really being in a fandom.
My first proper fandom was Harry Potter. Like many, I came into the fandom after the first movie came out in fall 2001--the movie pushed me through the Dahl-like beginning of the first book (I don't really care for books about neglected/abused kids). I'd finally gotten internet at home that fall, and like anyone else was poking around for porn and found this really terrible "Harry and his roommates rape Draco in the broomshed" fic on Nifty and thought, "Well, there must be someone writing Harry and Hermione together, then" and that search brought me to FictionAlley, and the rest is history.
3. If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Hmm. If I could bring all my friends there, I'd move to the woods of Maine. Since I can't, I'll stay here in NYC, which is the only other place I've wanted to live.
4. Jim and Bones are thrown back in time and accidentally get themselves arrested by Kate Beckett (and Rick Castle, trailing behind her). How do they all react to one another?
Rick is initially threatened by Jim's constant flirting with Kate and general handsome awesomeness. But then he hears how Bones talks to Jim, and realizes he's a kindred spirit, so he asks Jim, entre nous, how did he get Bones to take him seriously? And Jim says, by taking the relationship seriously and going all in. And Rick recoils, and Jim pats him on the back and says, "It's okay. I wasn't ready for a while, either." To which Bones says, "NO KIDDING." Kate comes back in and is like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" and Jim and Rick are like, "nothing ..." and Bones lays on the accent and distracts Kate with visions of Georgia until Pike finally walks in with Rick's-friend-the-mayor and springs them.
5. What would your patronus be?
Either a mallard duck or a snapping turtle.
