Gray days

Had an extremely frustrating day at work yesterday. Essentially, the two major projects that I have been working on for the last six months have been gradually dismantled until they are but shadows of their former selves. Damn clients. Hate them. As epicyclical and gehenna1 both pointed out, it's hard to understand why they pay us all this money but won't let us do our jobs.

Met epicyclical at the bookstore, where I bought two books written by two friends. Headed home to watch a Buffy rerun and eat Vietnamese food; Cassie stayed over.

Left early for doctor, then important meeting. Realized at doctor that I could not face work, left after meeting and came home, caught Cassie before she left to bring me my keys. Played hooky by going to lunch and watching The Hours. Was not as depressed by it as I imagined I would be. In fact, I found it really very beautiful and true in some sort of deep way. Am very glad I did not just stay home and mope. Playing hooky today made me feel much, much better.

Went to get hot chocolate afterward, where Cassie made me talk about sequel. Outlined much of first chapter of interstitial fic on the bus home. My EWFS muse seems to have returned, which is very good news indeed.

Thanks for the link. I ordered The Duke and I. She seem quite of prolific author, which is great, because if I like her, I'll so many books to read. Yay!
