And following up on this morning's poll: I'm pretty sure that Seacrest is about 5'6". I've always gotten the impression that Costas is more like 5'4".

Man, all anyone on mine is saying is Khan, and I'm like, enough with the Khan, he was on a hit TV show for seven goddamn years and is burned into my memory as an angel in a white suit hosting guests who would be on the Love Boat the next week.

I think Ryan is 5'6 as he usually looks an inch shorter than Simon. I have stood next to Simon and he was wearing his killer heels and seemed to be 5'9", so without them he should be 5'7".

It's from the previews for next week, where Simon says to some auditioner "I would've thought you'd quite like that" and the auditioner, who is clearly some giant queen, says "You mean the way you like it when Seacrest does it??" and everyone, including Simon, goes "oooo!"

Yeah, I've stood next to Blake, who's 5'4", and looks to be about two inches shorter than Ryan. So our calculations of Ryan's height are similar!

Simon's only 5 feet 9? But he looks YOOOOOGE. I thought he was at least 6 feet. But I used to think David Cook was 6 feet 1; I guess his massive alien skull (tm Jacob at TWOP, IIRC) made me think he's 2 inches taller than he really is.

No, no, no. Simon isn't even 5'9". Simon's about 5'7" and wears custom-made boots that have a significant heel and possibly a lift. That's why his torso is always pitched slightly forward, because he's in heels. You just never see him standing next to tall people.

LOL! I know--it's all about the nods to start the hula girls dancing, man. And that fine Corinthian leather. Also I just saw him in some old movie a couple weeks ago but I can't remember the title. I even saw him once in person--ran into him in a store in Venice. Well, he was in the store. I was too grubby to enter that store.

I know--especially since that name is always pronounced different ways. I know because it's my sister's name almost (she spells it with a C) and there's basically 3 pronounciations, two that are really different and a third that depends more on accent. I remember when I was growing up I was always confused by the people who pronounced in the way Simon did--just because that way was obviously *not* the way she pronounced it, you know?

I remember Montalban from both Fantasy Island and Star Trek. Himself as Khan is a little stronger in my memory from Star Trek, because I was such a huge fan and that was my favorite movie, but still. All of the articles I read last night were all referencing Trek, and I was like, but what about Fantasy Island?? He was on that forever, and Trek was just one episode and then one (granted, awesome) movie.

On the pronunciation front: I dunno, I have a client named Kara, a former editor, and the British born publisher she used to work for always pronounced it the same way, so I wonder if it's just an English thing.

EEEK! Can't wait for that. The second show does not air in the UK until tonight so i hadn't seen the previews for next week.

So true and notice in the promo pics for Britain's Got Talent, Simon is not standing next to new judge Kelly Brook,
which is unusual for him. He's next to Amanda, most probably because Kelly is much taller than him in heels.
