That made me so sad. She's obviously really stunted - I just kept thinking, "she's still a 16 year old girl!" Which is okay except that she's been 16 for 10 years. She's clearly a nice person, and probably fun to be around and so on, but you have to grow up sometime, and she just hasn't had the chance to do that.
And she's a mother, which doesn't seem to have matured her either. I still have the same sense that the fame has less to do with it than her own mental chemistry. She only made allusions to it, sort of talked about it all sideways, but she's clearly still struggling to work her way out of it.
I'm sure it's a combination of the two things, honestly.
But it's really good to see that she did seem to be aware of the situation in a way that I don't remember seeing in any interviews or anything before. It was obvious that she's in some kind of talk therapy based on the way she was talking, and I think that that can only be good.
I really would have liked to see her be frank. I mean, there's some improvement here, but I would be very impressed to see her just do a straightforward interview. One of the things that's always annoyed me about Britney is the way she's frequently just an act--years ago, acting mystified that anyone would find her Rolling Stone cover sexy, etc.
