Anything would have been anticlimactic after the last two episodes. That said, it's sad that Ted meeting Stella's kid felt anticlimactic. Barney overcoming all of his wingman's shortcomings to get him a lady was just more proof of Barney's magic, but I love that it took Robin's help, and that Robin and Barney's relationship hasn't really changed because they slept together. That's oddly comforting. I hope the Ted-Barney breakup doesn't last the summer, because (1) woe and (2) they're still on the bubble, though we should know next week.
Next week: Barney and Britney. Two weeks: season finale!

Date: 2008-05-06 12:55 pm (UTC)I really really hope that Barney and Ted make up soon, because the thought of them not being bros breaks my heart. I'm kinda hoping that Robin is the one who helps fixes things, and Ted will forgive him when he finds out that Robin wasn't just another conquest for Barney. I could have exploded with glee when they hooked up :D
The ep is sitting in my computer at home, and I so can't wait to get home and watch it!

I was so happy when Robin came to help Barney out. What was that you said recently about the show playing with gender expectations? Love that Robin is a lot less emotional about the whole thing--than either of the guy's actually. And Barney crying over how happy Ted would be when he got him laid was just precious.
