So, Hollywood week. I think that the restructuring of the week itself was wise, as the group thing was a pointless pitfall and really just created a lot of drama. lillijulianne was saying earlier that she wished that they had showed more of the kids interacting, but I think the reason they didn't is that the whole "we're drama nerds" thing interferes with the "let's make you into a star" thing. Still, given that they know in the fall who the top 24 are, I still don't understand why they can't make sure that in the huge pile of people we see singing, they can't make sure we see each of them at least once. It puts them at such a huge disadvantage when it comes time for the live shows.

So, who are we slashing? And who can send me to the footage from last year of the top 24 doing their intro dance?

And who else kept thinking of Chris hugging Blake last year every time someone came out of that elevator?

Ugh. So far, I am completely unimpressed with this season. I can't remember one name, and I keep mixing up everyone's tragic backstory.

I never really pay attention until the semis, and the tragic backstories are just, like, I know there's a reason, but I kinda don't care.

As for R&S, I mean, they've been going so strong through the hiatus, it's been insane. I don't think they even care anymore.

I tried to find the video for you because I had seen it a few months ago, but now I can't find it and I'm too lazy to look, lol. But it is some of the most adorable white-boy-dancing I've ever seen. :D

Not showing every person in the Top 24 bothered me, too. The last guy they listed in the Top 12 guys - he had wild, curly hair - I don't remember seeing him AT ALL all Hollywood week (I can't account for auditions because I didn't watch them all). That's going to hurt him in the later rounds, I bet.

The only people I will slash are Ryan and Simon, because I just can't put the energy behind another contestant ship like Cake. Also, no vibes for me, but dreamerren said that blond farmer boy from Virginia seems gay. Doubtless there's going to be idolslash stuff but no OTPs.

And yes. Completely. Every Hollywood Week hence or since pales in comparison because those boys. ugh.

Yeah, that one guy, I had never seen, nor the Luke guy I don't think, though I thought he was pretty hot.

i do think you're right about drama nerdness destroying mystique...sigh.

if rymon keeps going as they've been going, it will be good. not being an original slash gangsta myself, i don't know that i'll be slashing any of these people. the tractor boy didn't make it, and he had the most slash potential to my mind.

i HATE that they leave some of the finalists as complete surprises. i suppose they think it adds interest, but i couldn't disagree more. it's not fair.

I hope you don't mind me posting on your journal...

None of the guys really stand out to me as far as slashing goes either. I'm hoping that will change, but my OTP is now and has always been Rymon. I do think David Archuleta (the kid who had the voice paralysis and Simon said was the best performance so far during the final day of Hell Week) is a cutie but the bad thing is that he's only 16 so slashing him would be weird.

Side note - I've read some of your guys' Cake stuff but I really only read Cake because I don't have enough Rymon. *dodges sharp objects thrown in her direction* I'm going to scour your journals now for this elusive Rymon you mentioned! xD
