Dear Yuletide Writer

jlhI want to start this Yuletide post by saying that I got the MOST AWESOME ASSIGNMENT EVER. As my fellow yuletiders know, the initial assignment was incorrect and we got new ones but I got the same one both times so it was clearly meant to be.
Dear Yuletide Writer,
First, THANK YOU. This is my first year and I'm hugely excited, mostly about writing my own story, so whatever you write is more like a totally awesome bonus than the entire reason I'm participating. In other words, NO PRESSURE. This, and my comments on the assignment, are really just suggestions in case you'd like some.
The most important thing really, as I put in all the prompts, is no deathfic and I prefer a happy ending. I don't mind working for the happy ending; angst that ends well is splendid. Downer endings, though, kinda bum me out. I do tend to read and write romances, and smut, but that doesn't mean I'm expecting that here; gen is fantastic too, as I'm thinking about my love for the characters and their interaction. In terms of smut I do love dirty talk and an equal balance of forces. I don't really care for bodily fluid kink and I'm burnt out on BDSM.
Don't think that my prompts are there to guide you in any particular direction; they're more like thought starters and you can feel free to ignore them. I'm not a freak about plot—in many of the stories I love nothing really happens except maybe an internal change in a character or an emotional realization. Characters are always more important to me than plot and I adore great conversation. So feel free to have them just sitting around drinking coffee and talking about Great Clapton Songs, or have them find a way to Save the World from Certain Destruction, or anything in between!
Specifics:
Anne of Green Gables: Leslie Moore. Leslie's life with Owen Ford. Either a missing scene from House O'Dreams or what happened nexta rocky transition from her old life to her new, or domestic bliss, or living with a writer, or welcoming the babies that came, or hey, hot Leslie-Owen lovin'.
Leslie Moore and Owen Ford are married in canon of course, so I'd prefer to respect that, but that doesn't mean the story itself needs to be romantic.
WKRP: Bailey Quarters/Johnny Fever. Can be shippy or friendshippy. What really happened when Johnny was staying with Bailey? Did they get closer after the show ended? Were they just good friends who went out for chili sometimes?
Mister Rogers: Henrietta Pussycat/X the Owl. My first ship when I was just four! But I could never work out how they'd kiss. Is X's irritability with Hen just a put on for affection? Do they hunt mice together? Does X continually lecture Hen from his correspondence courses? Is Hen even listening, or just nodding and smiling and thinking about sex?
Both of these character sets are male/female but not a couple in canon so I wouldn't expect slash though it's not unwelcome! Whether the story is het or gen really doesn't matter to me; I just like the characters and their interaction.
How I Met Your Mother: Any. Slash should respect Marshall and Lily's marriage. Other than that, I'm open. Some suggestions: Is Barney secretly lusting after Robin? When did Ted start being Lily's friend rather than just her bf's roommate? Did Lily have trouble with female friends before Robin? Did Ted and Marshall have a huge fight during college? What would happen if all five of them took a roadtrip?
What I meant by that slash note is, Marshall and Ted or Lily and Robin having piles of sex is great, as long as it isn't implied that it's an affair with all the secrets and lies and partner betrayal that go along with it. But like I said, I am OPEN like a BOOK.
My recs aren't extensive and so far all RPS, but check them out if you like. I do write what I like to read, which for FPF has been Harry Potter plus one-offs in Rent and John Hughes (done as a NYR this January).
Mostly, thank you in advance; I know that anything you do will be awesome, because it will mean more fic for one of these fandoms, and isn't that the whole point?
