You're going home all right

jlhSo I'm still awake because I'm meeting a pal for breakfast before my flight and so I'm just not going to bed, and I'll go to bed … when I get to New Orleans.
First, there is ALWAYS a shocker, someone everyone thinks could win who suddenly goes home, usually because they were just fine, but someone else was in trouble, so everyone votes for the one in trouble and not for the seemingly sure thing. Season 5 it was Chris Daughtry, Season 4 I didn't watch so I don't know, Season 3 it was Jennifer Hudson, Season 3 I didn't watch so I don't know, Season 1 it was Tamyra Gray. I really thought Jordin was going home, so maybe so did her fans, and they came out and voted for her strong.

ali_wildgoose pointed out that the kids don't have the love of random Tina Turner songs that I do. I adore Nutbush City Limits, but to evoke the Tina vibe perhaps they should have chosen something from her solo career, and god, maybe even something kind of sexy? Particularly as she sang a relatively obscure Whitney song to start.
Third? I have no idea who is going to win this thing and when was the last time that happened?

Date: 2007-05-17 03:59 pm (UTC)In terms of well-rounded talent, Blake is the clear superior of the two left, but I actually think it would be better for him not to win, so that he doesn't become quite as owned by the Idol Gods. He's best when he's able to do his own thing, you know?
