I was thinking just now that I should have something else to talk about in this post other than AI and then I remembered that I used to watch a Magical Elves reality show on Wednesday night but I don't care about Shear Genius. Sad.
Anyway, tonight's show. Yay for stubbly Ryan!
Next week, if it's the same as the last two years, everyone sings three songs, one chosen by Clive (who screwed over Elliott last year), one chosen by a judge, and one chosen by the singer. But which singer will each judge choose to work with?[Poll #982079]

- That group number SUCKED. What is with the forgetting that the Bee Gees did the great disco classics and playing nothing but midtempo bullshit? Where was Jive Talkin? Who doesn't want to hear Blake do that "doobedoobedoo, doobedoobedoo, doo doo doo doo doo doo" section? What the shit was that? Could their energy have been more lacking?
- Barry, however, had sounded better when he was singing with the contestants than when he sang tonight. Also, his teeth aren't fitting all that well. It's amazing he can still hit those notes, but I wish he'd done it on a more interesting song. I'm over the movie promos, also. And Ryan pretending to perve on girls is always creepy and unfortunate.
- The baby pictures were completely adorable. Kid!Blake = drummer from School of Rock. I'm just like Jordin, btw: I looked exactly the same as a baby. Maybe it's a whole tragic mulatto trait?
- Since they can't get the rights to the Beatles songs, and they had three girls and a boy, the entire pimpmercial didn't work. Only Blake looked right, and we could only really hear him, even though I think Sanjaya and Ryan Starr have permanently ruined that song for this show, so even that was a weird choice.

Date: 2007-05-10 08:10 pm (UTC)Wow, totally. Also, in many of the close-ups of the singers, I could see them forgetting the words - Blake and Lakisha in particular. Possibly they were just that nervous about the vote?
I really enjoyed Pink's performance. My son LOVED her - he thought she looked cool and that she rocked. :) Though, I thought she looked a little like she felt awkward, right after she finished singing. Then I read today that she was bumped from the Very Special Idol episode, so maybe being on last night felt like a kind of lame consolation prize?
By the way, a couple of weeks ago you mentioned dl-ing the new Maroon 5 song from iTunes and that you loved it, so I went and got it and I cannot stop listening to it, and I can't get it out of my head. <3

Date: 2007-05-11 02:03 am (UTC)I especially liked the "Simon kisses his(Ryan's) ass all night." I didn't really see that, but I'd sure like to know why Jacob thinks so. :)
