To my fellow Manhattanites: The mayor just gave a press conference and thinks that the smell is more likely the chemical that makes natural gas smell, than the natural gas itself, as there is no evidence of a gas leak. I thought it smelled more like heating oil, myself, though it has dissipated from my neighborhood at this point.

In other news, the non-fandom wank that makes you feel oh so much less crazy, just in case you haven't seen it yet.

The best part is that it's actually not all that wanky, especially compared to wanks that go on in fandom. For the most part, it's a very civilized discussion and nobody but that callmesilver character got insulting.

Siriusly, we can't keep civil when someone suggests that our OTP is OOC and these people are having a rational debate about the implications of a guy fucking his horse on his Polyamorous identity.

It's like the less sane the topic, the more sane the discussion.

That's a great point. It really highlights where the crazy is. Nobody's exaggerating or trying to make it worse than it is. Their reasonableness speaks louder than any wank.

In that way it reminds me of that old ST:TNG vs. the furries wank, where the ST:TNG RPS'ers were really nice, but confused by the furries trying to take over their RPG. Like, why would Data be a furry? It was excellent.

Maybe because everyone can agree on what is or is not crazy. Wank usually comes from one bunch of people going, "Damn, you crazy" and that bunch saying back, "Excuse me, YOU crazy."
